Disclaimer: The PeopleCert Scrum Master I certification exam is being discontinued. You can take the PeopleCert exam until December 31st 2025. However, taking the exam on scrum.org is still possible beyond this date. The focus of this course, however, is specifically on the PeopleCert exam.

This course is a business-oriented course designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to excel in Scrum planning activities. This course delves into the essential aspects of planning within the Scrum framework, exploring the Planning Onion model to facilitate effective and efficient product delivery.

Participants will start with Product Level Planning, gaining insights into managing the Product Backlog effectively. They will learn to define Product Backlog Items (PBIs) and employ user story gathering techniques to enhance customer-centricity. The course will cover the significance of Acceptance Criteria, ensuring clear definition and acceptance of PBIs.

Furthermore, participants will dive into Product Backlog Grooming, understanding the iterative process of refinement and maintaining a healthy and prioritized backlog. Techniques such as prioritization, INVEST criteria, and Split and Combine will be explored to optimize the Product Backlog.

The course will address problems and incidents that may arise during planning and how to handle them effectively. Estimation techniques using the Fibonacci Sequence and Planning Poker will also be covered to facilitate accurate forecasting of effort and delivery timelines.

Participants will be guided on the importance of re-estimation in adapting to changing project requirements and improving future planning.
